Get control of roots that grow wild

Think long-term and get control of wild roots

Many have experienced that the roots of large trees stretch several metres below ground, causing great irritation and trouble. Fibertex RootSeal™ can minimise the spread of the roots and make things easier if the tree dies or has to be moved.

A combination of RootSeal™ and WeedSeal® can save you many hours of gardening in the future. RootSeal™ prevents the roots from spreading, while WeedSeal prevents weeds below the fabric from growing up between your plants.

Step 1

Start by digging a hole for the tree or plant. Place Fibertex RootSeal™ vertically in the ground along the edge of the bed. The strong green fabric functions as a shield and helps the roots grow down instead of spreading along the surface. RootSeal™ also functions as a lawn edge, so the crushed granite stays inside the bed instead of ending up in the lawn, causing great irritation to the person mowing it.

Step 2

Then, the WeedSeal® is laid in the bed to stop weeds from below from growing up between the plants in the bed. Remember to cut holes for new plants. Finally cover the weed control fabric with crushed granite. You can also use bark, pebbles or similar. Read more about WeedSeal®.
